With a growing trend in fresh foods, we are unfortunately seeing an increase in the availability of poor quality and unbalanced diets. Feeding a complete, species appropriate diet is the number one thing you can do to support health and longevity. But are we causing harm instead? Do you know how much to feed? Is 2% body weight enough? Is there a need to feed fruit and vegetables or is 80:10:10 best? Can you assess a diet for nutritional balance? What impact could deficiencies have on canine behaviour? As pet owners and professionals, we need to be able to assess diets. In this talk I will teach you how.
Regan Carnwath | Natural Canine Nutrition: Can We See the Whole Picture?
Dr Reagan Carnwath is a holistic vet at Herbal Vet Scotland. Holistic veterinary medicine is my passion. With 10 years in clinical practice, I have seen the limitations of conventional medicine for chronic disease. I believe as vets we are missing the foundation stone to health, nutrition.
I am a member of the British Association of Veterinary Herbalists, International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and the Raw Feeding Veterinary Society.
For me, working in this way is much more than just a job. It’s about integrating ancient and modern techniques to provide safe and effective therapies that improve the health and welfare of animals committed to my care.
