ICB is proud to support students and those just starting out in canine behaviour, as well as qualified and practicing behaviourists. As such, we offer two levels of membership.

​Our Affiliate Membership is designed for individuals at the forefront of their careers, dedicated to achieving a Level 5 qualification or higher in canine behaviour or a related discipline such as veterinary science, or animal psychology. Designed as an essential foundation for your professional growth, this membership tier serves as a bridge towards realising your potential as a certified canine behaviourist.

Stage 1: Academic Pursuit

As an Affiliate Member, you embark on your academic journey, focusing on your qualification with the reassurance that ICB is by your side, offering guidance and support in your educational endeavours.

Stage 2: Practical Experience

Upon completing your accredited course, you transition into gaining hands-on experience. ICB continues to stand with you, providing mentorship, case discussion forums, and assistance in report writing among other supports, facilitating your practical learning phase.

We understand that learning is a personal journey, often undertaken alongside professional and personal commitments. Therefore, ICB promotes a flexible approach to your progression. We offer our full support without imposing deadlines, recognising your dedication to advancing at your own pace. Our priority is your continuous engagement and progress in the field.
Support from ICB
You are encouraged to carry out client consultations under the supervision of a full ICB member in order to gain practical experience. This is on the condition that cases are discussed in-depth and reports are regularly shared with your support person for constructive feedback.
Pathway to Full Membership
When you're ready to take the next step towards Full Membership, we'll guide you through the application process, which includes submitting a video of a client consultation and the corresponding behaviour report. This is an opportunity to showcase your expertise and commitment to excellence in canine behaviour.
