Biography: Rachel Jackson, BA (Hons), Tellington TTouch® Instructor, AdvCertVPhysio, PGCE, CertHydroSA, Canine Acupressure Practitioner, Dog Trainer, MIRVAP (VP) (ICH), AHPR

Rachel’s journey to this point has been a winding path, filled with a deep-seated love for animals, particularly dogs, and a commitment to enhancing their lives and well-being alongside their human companions.

Rachel began her professional life in the world of education as a primary school teacher, which continued  However, a significant turning point came when my husband and I adopted Fionn, 28 years ago, a fearful and reactive lurcher. Fionn's challenges ignited a profound interest in dog behaviour and care, leading me to seek out ways to help him navigate his anxiety around other dogs and humans.  To address Fionn's needs, Rachel immersed herself in a comprehensive two-year course in dog training and behaviour, that only used positive training methods. This journey introduced her to the Tellington TTouch® Training Method. What drew her to TTouch initially was its gentle, intuitive approach. It’s not just a technique; it’s a philosophy that respects, honours  and strengthens the bond and understanding between  the dog and their guardian.  What led her to learn more was how effective it was in helping her own dogs be more relaxed, more focused and able to make the right choices in daily life.   Rachle loves to share the wisdom and insights that have made a difference in so many lives through TTouch.

Realising the crucial link between behaviour and physical health, she returned to university, earning her qualification as a Veterinary Physiotherapist in 2018. Today, through her practice, "Well Balanced Animals,"  RachelI dedicates herself to helping dogs achieve balance—physically, emotionally, and behaviourally—for a happier, more fulfilling life with their guardians.  As a Tellington TTouch® Instructor and Veterinary Physiotherapist, Rachel offers a unique service, personalized one-on-one sessions and teaching both nationally and internationally. Tellington TTouch® has become an integral part of her life, helping dogs in her care move with balance, increase their proprioceptive awareness, and relax more deeply, which all enhances communication and mutual understanding.

Rachel lives in the North West of England, with her husband, Jay, and their beloved greyhound, Amaya.  Rachel has a special affinity for sighthounds, which is reflected in both her personal and professional life. Her passion lies in fostering a harmonious bond between humans and their dogs, ensuring that our canine friends are as mobile, fit, and happy as possible.
